Journal Page and etsy...

This one is not titled yet. She's one of my favorites though. I'm thinking of putting my journal pages up for sale on etsy. It's time to restock on some art supplies which means I need to restock my bank account a bit! lol Just wondering if they would sell. Guess you don't know until you try, right? Well, we got some snow here last night, so I'm off to get the little guy ready to go outside AGAIN! What a hullaballoo....the snow pants and boots, and gloves and scarves...okay you get the idea. I'll be quiet now. Hope everyone is having a simply faboo Monday!

Thought Warrior...WIP

This is my Thought Warrior. Not quite complete, but still ready with shield in hand to ward off all the critics and negative thoughts that come with everyday life and everyday art.

I recently re-read "Art & Fear" (after seeing a post about it on the wonderful Kate Kendrick's blog) and it was filled with a lot of reminders that I needed to hear at this time. Funny how that happens. Here's just one passage: "The point is that you learn how to make your work by making your work, and a great many pieces that you make along the way will never stand out as finished art. The best you can do is make art you care about- and lots of it! The rest is largely a matter of perseverance."

So off I go....back to the drawing board. Paintbrush in hand, I will persevere and enjoy the journey! Happy Sunday all. I hope everyone is off to a great start for a great week!

Post 103 !!!!

I've seen bloggers posting about their 100 mark. Well, mine past me by. Funny how time can be like that. I realized that this May I will be living here in PA for FIVE YEARS!! Crazy, cause it really only seems like two years have gone by. And sad in a way, that we live day by day, and it seems time is passing slowly, then WHAM! you realize a huge chunk of life has gone by. If you were to take on a project today....knowing that it would take five years to complete, it would seem like an eternity. But looking back at five years time, it seems to have gone by in a flash.
And so I am celebrating POST 103!
And it actually is quite timely, as I realized from my last post- and all the well wishes- that blogging has really introduced me to some wonderful, caring, creative people.
Thank you all...for your kind words and encouragement, and for sharing your art anad life which gives both inspiration and a feeling of wholeness...knowing that we're all not going through the mess and joys of everyday life and art- alone.
And on that note....I want you all to know that I will be updating my links soon, and you will be added. (You know who you are! lol) My computer crashed while I was sick- apparently it got sick too-lol. Unfortunately, we lost all our files, bookmarks, art and photo files. And though initially I was upset, I now realize that it's simply time to start anew.
So cheers to New Beginnings! Thank you, my wonderful, creative blogging friends! Cheers to you too!

Finding Your Way

"She Lit Up The Night"

Yes, another journal page, though today I don't feel like I could light up much of anything.

Woke up feeling like I swallowed glass, with other wonderful flu like symptoms.

And quite honestly, I'm not feeling that great emotionally either.

Though I'm having fun with my journal pages, I'm still plagued by "finding my way" with my more serious art. I get all hyped and start on a whole series, maybe inspired by a new technique, maybe inspired by something else. Some good, some bad, but not feeling like it's really me. It's not authentic. Like I'm still struggling to find my style. Yet, I know part of being an artist is exploration and experimentation, I'm getting tired of feeling like I'm floundering and going nowhere. Does anyone else feel this way? How did YOU go about finding your own style. I could really use some words of wisdom here, folks! Not to mention some chicken soup.

So give me whatever input you got! And I hope you all are havin' a good week.

How does one stay on top of it all? And when is that Nanny showing up? Dreaming and wishing.

These are some pictures taken from our family "Music Appreciation Night".

No, it has nothing to do with Mozart or Bach! Instead, we take turns playing songs from our current favorites. So, the kids fill us in on what they're listening to and think is cool and we turn them on to our music- which by the way is also very uber cool. Really. Just ask them!

They like and have an appreciation for everything from the Beatles to Bob Dylan and we try and find some merit in the newer music of their generation.

So there you have it. My wonderful wacky family!
